"Itaewon Class"

A simple and clear revenge drama, a success story that depicts the path to success with friends. Men will surely be able to enjoy this work. On the contrary, it seems that women who like Korean drama romance will not get high praise. The love element is also an important role in the story, but the main thing is revenge. The story that goes through the difficulties is exciting.

"Itaewon Class" is a 15-years revenge drama of the main character, Park Seroi, who was robbed of his dreams, educational background, parents, and everything by the chairman of a large company and his son. Attracted by Seroi's beliefs and personality, his friends get together, gradually succeeding from a small tavern, finally defeating the country's largest food and drink chain and succumbing to the chairman.

"Itaewon Class" has a solid character, including not only the main character but also friends, heroines, and rivals. It is easy to embrace emotions because the characters are dug deeply at a natural timing. It's often the case that you want to cheer for a character you didn't like. The confrontational structure of the story is clear and does not blur until the end, so you can enjoy it to the end as if you were watching a movie. Even if the story is trivial, it is easy to understand because it is a revenge drama for a simple conglomerate, and I cannot help but support the "man's way of life" that lives in the belief of Park Seroi. It's exciting to see him overcome any difficulties with his friends.

  1. When I first read it, I thought revenge lasting 15 years was very long. However, I found out that the enemy that the main character fights against is the CEO of a large company, so if you think about it, it is not really that long. Romance dramas will naturally be popular, but I've heard that revenge dramas are quite popular with women, but that wasn't the case!? -Ammon T.

  2. Itaewon Class is one of my is one of my favorite Korean dramas!! The plot and storyline are extremely interesting and it pulled me in more and more as I watched. I liked how romance was more of a sub-story in this drama, yet it still had its moments of importance. I don't know how I feel about the romantic ending though to be honest. Watching the main storyline develop as he plotted his revenge and made his way to the top made me feel accomplished for some reason.

  3. I love Korean dramas and have watched many of them, but I have never seen the Itaewon Class. I've heard the name a lot, but Korean dramas are long and time consuming, and I've been too busy to watch it for months. I'm interested in it, so I'm grateful for learning a little about its contents through your blog. If I can have longer free time, I will try to watch Itaewon Class.
